Following the meeting held in January 2019 in New Delhi, India, GFAN Asia Pacific decided to work in synergy with colleagues from Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. From this meeting, was launched on February 14th 2019, the global special Valentine’s Day advocacy campaign “Love More Give More” which mobilized communities and civil society partners in more than 45 countries to send “love letters” to embassies, Global Fund donor country High Commissions and national leaders. While in some countries, actions are conducted with face-to-face meetings with representatives in donor embassies, and actions of the delivery of the letter to the embassies in implementing country capitals. In most African countries, the campaign was coupled with messaging/letters to some national leaders in countries (Parliamentarians, Ministers, Presidents..) to request for increasing for increased DFH at 5%of GDP. The purpose of this campaign was to express satisfaction with donor countries for their continued support and assistance for the fight against HIV, TB and Malaria since the creation of the Global Fund in 2002 and to reiterate their commitment immediately after the publication of the Global Fund’s investment portfolio. Support assistance has been requested from governments #StepUpTheFight to raise at least $14 billion to finance the Global Fund.
CS4ME has particularly supported coordination in Francophone Africa: Cameroon, CAR, Togo, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Chad, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Burundi.
